Lots of things have happened during the last 2 weeks.. some great things and some not so great things. It also made me realize that i've some great friends! So at the end of it i'm happy;)
I bot my mom a saree yesterday. its the first one i got her with my own money. So i was feeling very good abt myself. I went home n asked her to guess wat it was. She was not able to so i showed it to her. She was so... happy and touched. She loved the colour( thank u "S") and kept askin me why i got it. I really felt like saying- "Because u mean a lot to me", but was not able to.. At the end i jus mumbled somethin like-" hmm i saw it and blah blah.." It made me think that i say i love u and u mean a lot to me stuff often to my friends and my bf. But was not able to say it to my mom. I actually felt embarrased saying it. Dont know why?

I jus wish i could tell her some day!

Wow., thats really sweet. I swear., it is so dumb that it feels a bit hard to just tell your parents that you 'love them'.

Hmm., but I guess they'll know when we do somethings like this :)

and yeah., moms get quite impressed when their kids buy them a saree/jewellery..

You know what., I was planning to get my mom a saree before I bring a girl home telling that I want to marry her. :P Makes things easy you see.. :P (I know, I know.. I'm one grrr.. dont know what to say :P)

Great gesture!! Kudos to you!!

Well I have never told anyone that I love them or like "you mean a lot to me" types. I feel awkward to tell that to some one. :)

wow mushy post :)

the inhibition is proly just coz of not being used to it ... when its ur bf or sumone else u'd havta ascertain the fact by saying so explicity... not required for ur kins

besides how many times has your mom said that tyu :-? ... now if u hav't returned the gesture, then sumthing's wrong with ya :p
Why Am I said…
awwww....agree with u...we actually feel embarassed to say how much we love our parents tho we wud do it with our frnds etc...and thanks:P

that was super nice, my mom just loves every single bday gift i get her, she proudly displays it the whole day while others get shelved :), well, i guess you tell them that and it probably would go to their heads, and when you yell at them, they would probably ignore it and say "you dont mean that, i know otherwise!!" can frustrate you know!!hehe

That was so sweet of you.Go ahead and tell your mom u love her.I wish I had.Thats the only regret I have,I was young, thought my mom will be with me forever. she suddenly died and I wish I had done so many things for her.I did not.

Hmm..sounds familiar to a predicament faced here, wrote this sometime back here it is http://leftrightandcentre.blogspot.com/2006/06/two-sketches.html. This is not to trumpet this post but to say that I know exactly what you are talking about, infact its easier with mum but its a hundred times more difficult with dad. No idea why!!!
