London is all geared up for the Olympics and we are constantly being reminded o take care while travelling on the tubes and trains. They conducted a rehearsal with mock crowds yesterday and strangely enough I found the tube much less crowded than earlier. Whatever be it, the big bump is allowing me to find a seat irrespective of the crowd/ rush hour. My bump is bigger than it normally should be at this stage of pregnancy, apparently. People look at my stomach as if they expect the baby to drop out any minute. But you know the most irritating thing, some people have to constantly tell you how big or how round or how high my bump is. There is this one female who has things to say about my bump every single day. And they are all things like oh my god, how big it is growing and that sort. Every single day. I mean come-on give me a break. She has, thus, been included in my hit-list and is quickly making her way to the top of the list. I was watching the NDTV news last night and was sho...
So ya I have not been exactly that busy that I have not been able to post anything. But still you know I have the right excuses. The job, the pregnancy, moving and settling into the new house. Talking about the moving, I think it is one of the toughest things on earth [and this is coming from a person who is going to be delivering a baby in few months]. P and I were like dead dogs at the end of the weekend. And then we had to unpack which is tougher. Thankfully I love the unpacking process which makes things easier. I am totally in love with our new place. It quite a bit shoots out our current budget, but love defies all logic as they say. I was away from fb for a while earlier this year but somehow long tube journeys make you go back to it again. Dont ask me why I cant read instead. I love reading but reading is making me so sleepy that I even refrain from newspapers on the tube these days. I read 2 of Haruki Murakami's books last month and am dying to read the next one. Hopefu...
I thought Lawyers were the most cursed professionals, but I was wrong, it is the real estate agents. 8(&(*£^(&(!*(*_)£!
KVR Bakery in Ashok Nagar make this delicious vegetable bun. I have a strong urge to eat that right now. Pregnant women sure have weird urges :-)
I have been away for long. Too many things have been happening and I am still in the process of getting my life back in control. Nothing bad though. Although it did make me realize that it is tough when all your prayers are answered as well. My new work place is great, I am just loving the role and everything associated with it. Felt a bit overwhelmed in the first month but now I am getting a hang of things. We are planning to move to a bigger apartment and the house search has begun. P usually does the preliminary search. This time we are not sure where we would like to move. London has very compact houses and they are all overpriced. And one of bedrooms always is as small as a store-room in India. I hate that. I wonder why they cant make bigger bedrooms. If we can manage it in city like Chennai, they sure should be able to do the same here. I watched Kahaani few weeks back and absolutely loved it. A very well scripted movie and entertaining throughout. Its been almost 2 years since I...
Am having the daal parathas P made for lunch today. Such joy. And they almost taste like the ones my mom makes :)
Dear Dow Chemicals, You have yet to compensate the victims of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. You have a moral and financial obligation towards the victims and their descendants. How the hell are you are sponsoring the London Olympics? And just because the original plant was bought over by another entity does not entitle the new entity to go scot free. Dear Indian Government, Why is that you are ready to take steps against a person/ entity/ group only when the whole world creates a hue and cry? Lakhs of Indians are still physically and mentally affected by the exposure to the gas leak on that fateful night of December 1984. Your own citizens. Today is the 26th of January, our Republic Day. But I feel no pride. The real pride lies when the Government and its people work towards the safety and welfare of its citizens. Dear Anderson, Still alive and kicking, really?
