Why does it happen that most of things we look forward to so much never turn out to be as much fun as we thought they would? And why is it vice versa all the time? Do expectations reach that great heights that they become impossible to meet? Btw, made my first foreign trip last week. Went to Penang and KL. Had a blast at the beach. Tried my hand at para-sailing, jet- skiing and the banana boat. Shopping at Kl was so confusing. I mean, I was so confused by the variety of things available that i ended up buying very little. But got my note book!!!!! An Acer Aspire 4720. A long cherished dream finally come true. And also a digital camera :-) I know the 2 paras contradict each other. But I assure u that they are totally unrelated.

Everyday on my way to work I see this man. He must be over 40 and is about two and a half feet tall. I guess he works at some grocery shop nearby. He must be very punctual coz in case I'm late on certain days I can see him way past the usual place where I see him. Even when it is raining cats and dogs , I see him. Sometimes people in cars are unable to see him and almost hit him. But he moves aside and carries on. This man though a stranger to me has taught me so much. To each person, his own problems. But I really marvel this man's inner strength. I wonder what makes him go on and on. I wonder if he has a family to support or if he actually does have a family. I wonder if he has thought of giving everything up sometimes. If he had, what would have made him change his mind. For all I know- there was probably a very sweet poor woman who had married this man and she waits for him every evening. But still he must have to put up a struggle everyday to survive in this world. To me, ...

For the next few weeks nobody in Chennai should have a problem starting a conversation with anyone. Anybody can talk to you abt the movie Shivaji, its storyline, its heroine, the commedy track, the costumes and ofcourse whether the Superstar has lived upto his expectations. Such is the popularity of this guy. Though i think lately his movies are devoid of logic, i wld love to watch the movie asap. Jus to watch it on the big screen and enjoy the crowd's loud comments. Incidentally i was watching this Nagesh Kukunoor movie- "Bollywood Calling" yesterday. The movie is a sarcastic take on Bollywood movies and the Indian Movie goers expectations. One of the characters in the movie is Manu Sharma [some body like Rajinkanth probably] who has mass popularity despite his being 60 years of age. The heroine explains to the hero [who is a Hollywood actor] about how Manu can dance around the trees with 20 year old girls and the public loving it. But the same public cant understand ho...

Things I hate about family functions/ family get togethers- a) Me forced to say -“how are you, your husband/wife, your elder kid, your younger kid, blah blah blah” to a person whose family affairs I’m least interested in. b) Listening to an aunt describe her kidney stone removal procedure in greatest detail. c) Listening to a man boast about how his son in the States bought a Vinci/ how he visited the Niagara Falls/ how he cooks his own dinner etc.. d) Explaining for the hundredth time that all lawyers are not criminal lawyers or divorce lawyers. This one really kicks me- people seem to think there are no laws other than criminal law or domestic law. So explaining that I’m into Intellectual Property Law is too hard. e) Being photographed while eating

Getting up early in the morning is such a pain. For the past 3 weeks i have been getting up at 5.30 and going for a jog. But it still hasnt become a habit. My mobile alarm tone has become the most irritating sound i've ever heard. All kinds of excuses pop up in my mind at 5.30. Knee pain, dizziness, headache.. Its tuff when you have to convince your own conscience with an excuse. And i don feel that great throughout the day- as opposed to wat my mom says. Went to watch a play last evening. It was by evam. Not as funny as i expected it to be. The part i really enjoyed was the dance by 5 girls who appeared almost throughout the play. They really did a fantastic job. This weekend i discovered that the whole city pushes off to either Citicenter or Spencers on weekends. It has become like the Marina beach. The malls were filled with people from all walks of life. I wonder if these people actually came there to shop. It seems that everybody's common mission was to get into a place w...
